Lana Del Rey’s “Say Yes to Heaven” Top 10 – Billboard

The long-awaited release of Lana Del Rey’s “Say Yes To Heaven” (via Polydor) could immediately land her in the UK top 10.

The American alternative pop star explodes to No. 8 on the chart update and is on course for the best debut of the week.

Co-written and produced in 2012 with frequent collaborator Rick Nowels, “Heaven” was cut for the Ultraviolence album, but did not make the final track listing for this recording or subsequent recordings. The track leaked in October 2020 and took on a viral life of its own, culminating in a proper release last Friday.

Clearly Del Rey’s early stuff has a strong connection with UK fans.

The single, which Minogue performed on Sunday night (May 21) for the finale of american idolcould be his highest entry on the Official UK Singles Chart since “Into The Blue” peaked at No. 12 in 2014.

Meanwhile, at the top of the charts, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding remain on track for a seventh non-consecutive week at the controls of “Miracle” (Columbia).

All will be revealed when the official UK Singles Chart is released on Friday evening (May 26).
