“Over the past few years, I think Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has become more democratic. Hard rock artists, who were normally a bit marginalized – from RUSH For KISS For JUDAS PRIEST even Stevie Ray Vaughanwho had trouble getting in – are now welcome. So I think it’s a nice house for RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINEto join some of my favorite groups: BLACK SABBATH, AC DC, PUBLIC ENEMY, SHOCK. It’s a very good company. »

A band whose songs took alternative radio to new heights while right-wing media corporations tried to purge every song we ever wrote from the airwaves. A group that wrote rebel songs in an abandoned industrial warehouse in the valley that would later dethrone Simon CowellIt is ‘X factor’ pop monopoly to top the UK charts and have the most downloaded song in UK history. A group that funded and organized delegations to stand with Mexican Zapatista rebel communities to denounce the Mexican government’s war on indigenous peoples. A group whose experimentation in the fusion of punk, rock and hip hop has become a genre in its own right. A group that closed the New York Stock Exchange for the first time in its history. A group that has been targeted by police organizations that have tried to ban us from sold out arenas for raising our voice to liberate Mummy of Abu Jamal, Leonard Peltier and other political prisoners. A group that sued the US State Department for its fascist practice of using our music to torture innocent men at Guantanamo Bay.

“A big thank you to Hall of Fame to recognize the music and the mission of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE“, the group added. “We are grateful to all the passionate fans, to the many talented co-conspirators with whom we have worked and to all the past, present and future activists, organizers, rebels and revolutionaries who have inspired our art. “
